Work, sleep, knit. Work, sleep, knit.

All I have done this weekend is work, sleep and knit. I am so glad Mother's Day is over. I made it through 3 shifts yesterday and 1 today but not without losing my cool.

Mother's Day and Christmas are about one in the same, busy-wise at Bath and Body Works. We were running low on gift bags, certain product and tissue paper today. Why the store didn't prepare for this, I don't know. We were using some of our less-pretty tissue paper today so when someone would ask for tissue paper I would use it. It's that or nothing. My co-manager came up behind me and held up a piece for a customer to look at and let her analyze it and decide what she would like to do, meanwhile the line is getting longer and longer. Look, if she doesn't like it she can take it out or not use it. The co-manager was like "it's not as pretty but I can wrap it for you and we can make it pretty" At that point my blood pressure had to have hit the roof.

From then on, we were wrapping EVERY gift. Once someone in line sees you wrapping a gift, they need theirs wrapped and then the person behind them and the person behind them. I finally tried to stop that snowball from rolling and the next person I rang up, I scanned their stuff and put the giftbag IN their bag and the woman looked at me disgusted and said "why aren't you wrapping mine up?"

Why do I have to wrap your shit because you waited until the last minute to buy gifts ON THE WAY to your mothers day dinner. [/rant]

Sorry, had to get that out since I couldn't say that to any of the annoying customers today.

On another note I had two young boys come in today looking for each of their moms. One was LOADED. I don't think I've ever had as much cash as this kid did. Hahaha. He asked me for a $50 gift card and paid me and asked for a pen. He signed it from his baby sister. It was so cute.

Then another kid got his mom a gift set and a robe and wanted it all in one bag. I did that and handed him the bag but he was asking for fluffy stuff. I thought he meant product but he wanted tissue paper. I stuck a bunch of tissue paper in there and he said "now she won't know where we went". (hahaha nevermind that the bag is very clearly marked with Bath and Body Works) He was so excited to get home and see his mom.

Those boys more than made up for the obnoxiousness of the adults I had to deal with today.

Between catching zzz's and working, I tried to work on Gene's scarf project. It's coming along but I can't seem to knit and do anything else so it goes a little slower than most. Haha. Hence the name "project". Knitting is still not quite relaxing to me but it's getting better now that I know when I need to purl and when I need to knit.

I have to hit the sack since I have to be in Austin very early tomorrow. G'night.
