Beautiful Ohio Morning

Not really ....

But there are no lizards ;)

Ya think?

So, heading out of Springfield this morning I had already eaten a banana and some pizza. I needed coffee to see if I was still alive. I headed to a McDonalds.

I felt like complete poo and this made me laugh. Quite possibly I was still intoxicated. Anyway ...

I think the 2 rolls of duck tape says it all. The additional sign was just the icing on the McDonalds Apple Pie.

Drinking in the middle of the week?!???!

Last night ... one big blur. Haha. We went to a friends house to drink, play pool and play with this little bar bowling game she has. I think it's safe to say a good time was had by all ... until this morning.

*blink *blink

She wins, hand down, for the best basement ever. It's sad that she's a UT fan - she seemed like such a nice person before I knew that. (check out her shirt ;))

Here are a couple pictures - the others will be deleted. Gone forever and always. LOL

Nice lady, ugly shirt, great bowling game!!
Pool area (cool, right?)
Michelle was good at everything. Bowling and pool.

On the way to Hooter's the other night ...

Pretty Ohio Sky. The guy behind me was less than happy that I was taking pictures on Polaris Parkway. Haha. It's like 15 lanes, Dude ... pick another one.

Central 12, Shawnee 7

Central feeds on Shawnee mistakes

Shawnee dominates the box score, but the young Irish turn turnovers into points.

Saturday, August 23, 2008

SPRINGFIELD — It was just an off-handed comment at the end of one of 191 interviews Catholic Central veteran head coach Steve DeWitt has given after a victory, but it was right to the point.

"It's nice to be able to score on a short field," DeWitt said.

Indeed. After being dominated in the first half everywhere but on the scoreboard, the youthful Irish capitalized on numerous Shawnee mistakes and beat the Braves on their home field, 12-7, in their season opener on Friday night, Aug. 22.

Shawnee opened the game by shoving the ball down the Irish's throats with a punishing ground attack. The Braves went 75 yards in just a little over four minutes and jumped out to a 7-0 lead on a 2-yard run by Phil Ulery.

After a Central punt, it was more of the same for Shawnee with gains of 9, 10, 11 and 7 yards before they fumbled the ball away on their own 40-yard line.

It would be an omen of things to come for Shawnee.

"When you look at the second half, we were still getting 5 yards a pop every time, then would get a penalty or fumble the ball away," said Braves coach Rick Meeks. "I don't want to take any credit from them, but we beat up on them all night."

The stats bore that out. Shawnee had 116 rushing yards in the first quarter alone, 173 at the half and 244-92 for the game.

But Central, which started three freshmen and four sophomores, and had only two players overall playing the same positions they did for last year's Division VI state semifinalist team, moved the ball when it counted.

Thanks to the passing and running of senior quarterback Brendan Kelly, the Irish opened the second half with an 11-play, 77-yard scoring drive, capped by a 2-yard run from Pat Sheehan. But the kick failed, leaving the Braves up 7-6.

It took Shawnee two plays to fumble the ball back to Central on the Shawnee 28. Then it took the Irish just three plays to make the Braves pay, on a 21-yard TD pass from Kelly to Ryan Tumblinson.

The scoring would be done, but not the Shawnee mistakes. The Braves had two key holding penalties that stalled drives and fumbled the ball away one more time. And the young Irish? Just 29 strong, they hung in there.

"There's a lot to be said about the leadership we have," DeWitt said. "Kelly showed the way all night, and Sheehan played hard both ways trying to fill the shoes of Brian Wagner. We knew we had to force some fumbles, and we were able to do just that. We're just glad to get a victory, especially here."

GO BUCKEYES!!!

Springfield Trip 8.14.08

I'm kind of skipping around with these posts and pictures. Today is the first day in almost 3 weeks that I didn't HAVE to wake up and do anything. With work, car shows, football scrimmages, doggie hair cuts, visiting Grandma, family reunions, shopping and seeing the boys in Springfield I've been on the go for days on end. :) I love being home.

Today I've taken two naps, started laundry and cleaned up the basement. Alex and I ran to Starbucks a little bit ago and I'm going to catch up on Days of our Lives tonight. Nice and relaxing.

Tomorrow after work I'm going to the night practice at OSU and Dan and the boys may come over for that. Yay! That'd be great to see them one more time before Friday.

On to the pictures ...

Driving over, Thursday night, started out beautiful...

Right?
Okay, here it's getting a little dark. Dark cloud over Suz .. how odd. [/sarcasim]
This made me laugh. Haha. (<-- That's how I laughed) Pouring ... but I kept taking pictures...
Sun coming back out...

Back to nice driving :)
Buck Creek sign. Just funny.
Dinner with all the boys... (Mia and Papa Gould came too!)
Cutie Colin...
John ... being camera shy ... riiiight...
Huh?
Friday AM at the scrimmage...
John taking a break from water boying...
Brendan's not in uniform - he's injured. He's out there though!
Awww, Brian's the QB!! (He's a freshman!)
John at Sonic ...
John keeps saying I take pictures of the most ridiculous things ...
But that didn't stop him from hopping on the bed when I got out the camera ... while he's using my phone to call God knows who ...
They are great shoppers. It was THEIR idea to go to BB&B. Who was I to argue?
This was the difficult part. Have you ever taken a bull into a china shop with freshly laid tile? I had 4.
I like how the guy said you could walk on it "gingerly". Yeah ... no. With 4 boys you say "don't walk on it at all".
I used to change this boys diaper ... look at all his awards!! *tearing up*

Where does the time go?

Oh my, my, my!! Where have you been my favorite Blog site!?! :) With everyone and their brother's mother on Facebook, I think the Blo...
