And on the 7th day .... We got power

Last Sunday, Hurricane Ike came through Ohio and did what hurricanes do. Minus the water. It was the strangest thing. We had 6 hours of 80 mph winds and lots of hoping and wishing that none of these huge Clintonville trees decide to take a dive. Power went out around 4:30 on Sunday and we got it back today around 12:30, just after the OSU game started. We had a couple teasers with the power but each time the lights came on we'd hear a huge boom and it'd go dark again. Transformers were blowing up and lighting up the sky. It's been ridiculous.

Here are some pictures ...

Kevin's tree ...
Our roof ...

Kev's yard ...
Damn the Clintonville trees ...
Our deck ...
Work being done on Milton Ave.

It's a low point when there's a Rent-A-John in your neighborhood ...
Oh, good, it's open if I need to go.
Oh a hole in the groud with a thin cover ... yeah ... I'mma drive over that.

Ummm, excuse me ... shouldn't this be by the hole in the street??

Alex climbed over these pipes, tripped and smacked his face. He turned around and gave me this look like "why'd you push me?"
Just a fraction of the clean up ...
Taken for oh so obvious reasons ...
More clean up ...
More clean up ...
Alex is just making sure these dry leaves don't catch on fire ...
Our "floating roof" ...

We are very lucky. My amazement is that a hurricane did this much damage in Ohio. I know we could have it much worse.

Thank you AEP. :)
