Albert F. Cunningham

Albert F. Cunningham, age 87 of Fairborn, passed away Thursday May 1, 2008 in the Summerville at Fox Run. He was born February 8, 1921 in Mannington, West Virginia, the son of the late David Morgan and Della (Snyder) Cunningham. Albert served his country in the United States Air Force as a supply officer during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, retiring in 1969 after 30 years of service. Following retirement he volunteered for many years in patient transportation at Wright-Patterson AFB Medical Center. He was a member of Michael L. Finnell Lodge # 711 F & AM, as well as the Antioch Shrine. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Bob; and two sisters, Maxine and Bernice. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lillian; a daughter, Sally Munro and husband Don of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Bill Cunningham and wife Sandy of Bloomer, Wisconsin; and three grandchildren, Suzy Munro, Matt Munro, and Dave Cunningham.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 6, 2008 at 12:00 Noon in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Byron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association –or- a charity of the donor’s choice.
